To receive an Excellent rating, the individual must engage in other scholarly achievement, recognition, or professional qualification which the PAC deems exceptional.
In addition to the broad, international recognition from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) mentioned in 2.B, External Recognition, I have also received other recognition that reflects my professional and scholarly accomplishments:
- I was inducted into the Epsilon Pi Tau National Technology Honor Society in 2009
- I was part of a team that received the Vice Presidential Hammer Award in 1999, supporting contributions to improved data quality and data production processes as part of the NOAA GPS Meteorology Group, for “contributions to building a government that works better and costs less” (with a citation by Al Gore)
- I received the Outstanding Junior Faculty Award from the JMU College of Integrated Science and Technology (CISAT) for academic year 2011-2012
- I was also recognized as Nortel Networks Newcomer of the Year in 2000
